For those of you that like to read the fine print (and you know who you
are...), here's what we at the GTP are all about:
We at the GTP believe in "Socially Conscious Theater".

Great, you might be thinking, but what is that?  Perhaps it can best be defined by what it is not.

Socially conscious theater is
not art that tries to make people cry, wear all black, or think
perpetual deep thoughts.  There are wonderful plays that shake people into reconsidering their
place in the world.  These plays are  necessary, and they certainly have their place.  They are
not, however, what we’re all about.

While we might accidentally do something serious from time to time, we recognize that there’s
a need for lightness in our world.  Whenever possible, we want to do
good through laughter.
Ultimately, our goal is to use our collective talents, both comedic and dramatic, to enrich the
lives of those in our community.

Towards that effort, we believe our performances should not only entertain, but they should
also try and give something back.  Not just to the audience or those involved in the making of
the show, but to the many causes that need a helping hand.

Take a look around.  There are plenty of worthy causes in our area.  For each show, we at the
GTP pick one cause, and a portion of the proceeds from that production are donated to that
organization.

Whether that cause is providing a safe house against domestic violence, stopping hunger,
preventing animal cruelty, or helping to find a cure for illnesses affecting those around us,
we’d like the chance to prove that laughter
is the best medicine.

If you ask us, that's worth smiling about...
